This is a new and exciting at-home program which we are introducing for Jewish children. The name of the program is Mitzvah Missions and it essentially gives the child a Mission to fulfill, which earns points and prizes! Here are some FQAs:
  1. What are the Mitzvah Missions?
The Mitzvah Missions are tasks for your child to fulfill over the course of a couple of weeks, which will then earn them points towards prizes and raffles. The tasks are easy to do at home and don’t require much prior training.

  2. What are the rewards for doing the missions?
Fulfilling the missions will earn points towards prizes and raffles. If you do the mission for just one week, you earn points towards a smaller prize. If you do several weeks’ missions, the prizes become bigger and more exciting!

  3. How many missions are there?
For now, just to get started, there will be one simple mission to do on a daily basis for 2 weeks. As time goes on, we will add bonus opportunities and advanced missions for accomplished children!

  4. As a parent, what are some benefits that I should look forward to by enrolling my child in missions?
There are several positive elements for your child. Here are a couple:
    - They can be excited by a Jewish practice since there is a prize which follows.
    - They can compete against themselves and others. Can they keep up their missions each and every day? Can they complete the most missions in town? Especially as time goes on and the program develops, kids will have the chance to advance through “ranks” even as they get older and closer to Bar/Bat Mitzvah!

  5. Will this be hard for me to keep up with as a parent?
The short answer is no. The basic program is not difficult to keep up with. Keep track of whether your child did the daily mission (e.g. said Shema each night) and then send us that information after 2 weeks. As the program develops and more opportunities are added, the minimum participation will stay the same. It will be your choice if you want to join in with all of the extras.

  6. Is there a cost?
Right now we are running this as a test program, so there is no cost!

  7. What age is Mitzvah Missions open to?
Anyone under Bar/Bat Mitzvah can participate.

Below you can find the first mission, applicable to the 2 weeks starting November 8th!
